What is the Science Fair?
It all starts with an interest in science and a question. "Do nails or screws hold wood together better?" "Does my mouth or my dog's mouth have more bacteria?" "Where is there the most air pollution in Red Hook?"
The Mill Road Science Fair is a PTA sponsored event at which students display and discuss the results of their own experiments. The whole community is invited to come to the fair and see the students’ displays and ask them questions.
All students at Mill Road are welcome and encouraged to participate. Some projects students create take weeks, but most take a few hours to complete. Students (with an adult) may attend part, all, or none of the information sessions: THE SCIENCE FAIR, Friday February 19th from 6:00-7:30 PM, the 3-5 cafeteria AND the gym.
Questions? Want to help? Contact Science Fair Coordinator: Valeri Thomson at 845-758-3032
Fifth grade projects may be submitted to the Dutchess County Science Fair (See www.dcsciencefair.org for additional information).
